6spd To 700r4

it seems that i'm the only one on the planet that wants to go from 6spd to auto, has anyone done this conversion? is it a pain in the a-s or no? does anyone want to swap a 6spd for a low mile 700r4?

I went from a M6 to 4L60E....Here are examples of what I had to do.....
Took a new wire harness (could have pinned out the old one with new wires and connectors). New cross member, shift cable, shifter, shifter plate, pedals, reprogram for auto vs. manual and I had a juck car guy torch me out the section for the shifter. You would need a lot less going to the 700R4....Hopefully someone on here can tell you the minimum to do it....

I'll trade you gear. I've got a 4L60E with all the fixings. LOL I'll even buy you a new TCI torque converter for it.

I went from a 6 speed to a th350. it was easy, just had to modify my crossmember and drive shaft, change flywheel, shifter. I also changed the starter cause I put a larger SFI approved flywheel. I fab up some brackets to mount the shifter in the 6sp console. so the 700r4 should be about the same. good luck

What year is your car? If its a 93, the 700R4 is OK, because there is no need to interface with any electronic trans controls. If its a 94 or newer, do you want to have the electronic tranny control capabilities that are built into your PCM (when programmed for an A4)? If so, you need to use the 4L60E...... same as the 700R4 plus electronic controls.
