'67 Saginaw M20 Speedo Drive Gear?
'67 Saginaw M20 Speedo Drive Gear?
Anybody know, off the top of their head, how many teeth are on the speedo drive gear of a 1967 Saginaw M20 transmission. I want to buy a new speedo gear so that I can actually get accurate readings on my speedo, but I have zero desire to pull the tailpiece off of the transmission to count teeth. I searched google, and the only site that lists any drive gear teeth that I can find only shows 18 tooth automatics. According to NPD, mine is either 8 or 9 teeth, but which one?

Well, to answer my own question for the sake of having the information archived:
Looks like the drive gear in an M20 is 8 teeth according to this site:

The 1966-1970 Saginaw M20's were identical from what I can tell, so that 1970 service manual should be accurate. I'll know for sure once my gear comes in and I install it.
