6 Speed Swap/94Z

Hey Guys,

I have a few quick questions if anyone can help. I've been doing quit a bite of looking around on prices for conversion kits. I was wondering for you guys that have done this, what I should be looking to spend. Also, where are some good places to look, besides g-yards, fbody motor sports, or ebay. Right now I think my 4L60E is on its way out. RPMS drop to idle as soon as I let off the gas in all gears except od. Under hard accerleration, car won't shif until I let of the gas. So Im looking at doing this swap instead of a rebuild. Any feed back would be great. Thanks

You can look to spend anywhere from $1100-$2100 for the whole kit. I spent $1700 for my conversion kit. It came with everything that i need to do the swap in. There are going to be little things that you might or you might not need to buy. This is by far the best mod i have done to my car. If you go by this guide you can get everything you need to know about it.

Me and my buddy did mine in a day. I followed the link posted above. It is definitely one of the best things I've done, but also make sure you have enough $$ for new gears. I drove with 3.23's and my cam (230/236) when I put the M6 in and it was a pig, but my new 3.73's completely woke up my car.

I agree with the above. I still have my 3.23's in my car right now but just picked up some 4.10's i"ll be installing. No more getting beat from rolls anymore.

Stop copying what I do. First the pro 5.0, then gears, and of course there's the A4->M6 swap j/k.

With the 3.23's I remember getting pulled from a roll by a stock ls1 With the 3.73's I now pull several car lengths.

Hey thanks guys for all the feedback. Yeah, I have that one link already, looks like that will help alot. I do have 373's already in my car, so I think I might stay with that. I've thought about 411's, but with gas prices, I might just hold off on that. Thanks again.
