4l60e year identification

im in the market for a used 4l60e, i was wondering if there is a way that i can visually tell what year it came from.

i need a 95-97 4l60e how can i identifity it without opening it up.

i think i might have found the answer.....

the 95-97 had the pwm pump, am i correct?

Yes, PWM TCC 95-97.
You could also check the VIN derivative that is stamped on it.
