Did DHL accept responsibility and agree to pay the insured value?

The previous owner of the tranny is talking to them right now, this JUST got to my house about 30 min ago. I didnt even sign for it, they just left it by the door and drove away. I went outside because the dog was barking and saw the box.

Good luck and please keep us updated. After having many problems with UPS, I decided to give DHL a try. I currently have an $1800 build heading to California(from Pennsylvania). Hopefully it makes it in better shape.

Ouch. I insured the package for $500 to cover a core if I need to buy one from Frank if it has issues getting there.

I'll pay Frank extra for insurance shipping to pay for the whole rebuild just in case!

Looks like they dropped that one upsidedown and the bellhousing took a smash. I shipped mine UPS, let's see how it goes.

GL on that one, hope it gets covered and taken care of.

Javier. If you look at those pictures of the damaged transmission, you'll notice there was no wooden support structure like we have our customers build. Without it, the transmission is able to slide around inside the plastic container. Of course it's going to get damaged that way. If you packaged it like we request, you'll be fine. We do occassionally get them with the plastic containers broke, but we've only had one instance of any transmission damage a while back. Yes, DHL covered the cost of a replacement case.
We put $1700 worth of insurance on all of our "Pro Race" units when we ship them.

I'll let you know when it arrives here.

Thanks,
Frank

CPT
Actually mike built it following your instructions, it has the wooden support and tie downs, they put something VERY heavy on top of it. The top of the container is crushed right down the middle and dented in.

Sounds good Frank.. and yep it's packed 100% per your specs on the website. It's tied down to the point of overkill on the inside and crate wrapped as you see on the outside I put "cushions" on impact points around the bellhousing and the tailshaft to minimize any damage.

Thanks, I'll give ya a call tonight w/ some additional details.

Damn Ricci that sucks. Usually shipping companies won't cover **** unless they packed it themselves.

And congrats Javier...like Frank said, if you packed yours the way it shows on the website, you'll be fine.
