I have a '71 Nova that has been retro-fitted with a LT1/4L60E. When this was done, the vss was removed and a conversion to a mechanical set-up was done. I still have the tailhousing with the vss pick-up and I want to convert to autometer electronic gauges.

I have gotten the GM part number for the reluctor (GM#24202711) and spoken with speedometer solutions. It sounds like all that I need to do is put the vss pick-up back on the tailshaft housing, remove the drive gear for the mechanical setup from the output shaft, install a new reluctor wheel, and then wire it up. Am I understanding this right? What goes into installing the reluctor wheel, what is the procedure?
