4l60e to t56 swap 94 z28. Need hydraulic system

I have a 94 z28 with 4l60e. I have a t56 tranny but no hydraulics or clutch. I have never had a clutch car and i am not familiar with their hydraulic setup. Is their a kit I can buy that has the entire hydraulic system or just pull a used out of a JY. Will be making 500-600 FWHP N/A. So far my list is MGW short throw shifter, Spec stage 3+ clutch, and buy entire hydraulic system and clutch pedal. Is their anything that I am missing? Also I will buy a new flywheel because it will be behind a gen1 sbc.

Not clear.... are you replacing the current 4L60E that is behind your LT1 with the T56? Or are you installing the T56 behind a Gen 1 SBC that you are installing in your 94? Is the T56 out of a 93 F-Body, a 94-97 F-Body, or a 98-02 F-Body?

You would need a flywheel to install it in place of the 4L60E, because the A4 has a flex-plate, not a flywheel.

The 93-97 hydraulics are available as a complete assembly - reservoir, master, braided S/S line and slave.

T56 will be behind a fuel injected 421 sbc. As i mentioned already i will have to buy a flywheel. It is a LT1 T56 but not sure what year it came out of. Also i typoed the year. I have a 93 Z28. I am looking for a complete hydraulic assembly as you mentioned i can buy. What brand hydraulics would you recommend or does it even matter?

As I understand it, you need a custom flywheel if you are running a 2-piece RMS, and the LT1 flywheel if it's a 1-piece RMS.

You could look for used hydraulics, or try GM parts dealers for new. Not sure if they still sell the complete assembly. If not, auto parts stores should be selling replacement.

OP

you can buy a replacement "sealed" hydraulic (MC/Slave/Reservoir) at most chain auto part stores or rockauto.com. This is for a "LT1" pull type clutch using a specific LT1 type flywheel. I don't know if a LT1 FW works with a Gen 1 SBC

I found the replacement hydraulics to be exactly the same mfg as stock GM ones.

with that said, you can also buy aftermarket MC's from McLeod or Tick that have adjustable rods....which many feel offer better shifting and clutch pedal position adjustment

SPEC (along with other companies) makes a conversion flywheel for sbc to LT1 T56. Looks like i will just buy a replacement system.
