LOL trade your 4l60 for a t-56. Sorry to say the t-56 is worth a fair bit more then your auto and while the 4l60 are a dime a dozen, used t-56's are getting pretty rare. You should be able to find a used one somewhere, however trade, umm no.

I'm in the process of coordinating the same swap. I'll have to agree that it's a lot harder to find a used T-56 than an auto, at least in my case, but just keep an eye out and you'll catch one on the way out.

Check ebaymotors if you decide to buy one.

Might also try posting in the parts wanted section. Also, keep an eye on any local boards. I bought the one for my S10 from a local yocal for $800 bucks.

Re: 4l60e swap 4 t56

Fellas,

I'm probably the only one considering a T-56 to 4l60e swap. Mainly because I really don't want to sell my car and try to find an automatic in comparable condition (my car is showroom condition).

I've done a few auto to 5spd conversions on other cars that I've owned so I'm up for the challange. I just need to research it out and see what I'm getting into.

Anyone who may be interested in a used T-56 that is in perfect working condition from a pampered '96 with 82K.....shoot me an email and I'll keep you in mind if I do the swap.

Where do you live, location plays a huge part in swaps.

I am probably up for it, NE Ohio area, but "Will travel for 6-speed"
