4l60e Ratchet Shifter ?'s
4l60e Ratchet Shifter ?'s
Just to make it clear I know that you can't manually shift the 4l60e because its electronically controlled and the line pressure is to high but my question is more of a cosmetic one.
My stock shifter is broken and I got a good deal on a TCI Streetfighter shifter this weekend, TCI says it will work w/ the 4l60e but I need to know if I use this as a normal shifter and dont manually shift while driving, will my tranny be fine? The last thing I want is to have to rebuild it again. Also has anyone done this before and do you have pics?

Re: 4l60e Ratchet Shifter ?'s
they are only manual shifters if you have a manual valvebody....4l60s dont have manual/reverse valve bodies, etc. the only difference is you might have to pull a lever or something to drop down into low gear...nothing big though.

If adjusted properly, will work like the stock one, put it in drive and go! I'm not sure if they are 1-2 then 3rd and od or what, but if not most aftermarket shifters can be adjusted to there is 4 gears you could manualy shift into.
