4L60E need help!!
My car has taken out 3-4 clutch pack 3 times now, they have been lasting anywhere frond 50miles -9000miles, all other clutch look great, cant find anything wrong with any seals or *****,I was using the alto 9 disk, does anyone have any ideas?? as a side note im going to be puting the Z-pak in once I find the problem.
This is why we really don't advise anyone to rebuild their own 4L60E's. It gets time consuming and expensive...Especially if you start burning up $100 Z-Paks.
There are many many numerous things contributing to 3-4 life. First off, throw away that alto arrangement. What 2nd servo are you using? Are yiou using "load release" springs in the drum? Are you using a Trans Go shift kit? What are you drilling the hole in the plate to? Do you have a good air check? stator teflon rings sealing? Is the 3-4 piston sealing? Bad pump stator bushings? Still using the stock slide spring? What boost valve? Is the converter locking up?
If you're not real familiar with these transmissions, there's alot of things that can be overlooked.

ALL Air cheaks are good, all ***** and retainers are holding, its a jet servo, all drum springs are stock, .490 boost valve, all bushing look great, New tci 3500 lock up stall, transgo shift plate stock hole sizes,
Is the Jet billet, or just a "corvette" type? If you're using the 3-4 "load release" springs, you'll never keep 3-4's in it. Even with them, you should only see problems later than you are. You've got to be overlooking something.
You specified your converter. Are you sure it's locking up?
