4l60e help
3.4 and 5.7 have different bellhousings that won't physically bolt up. Not to mention the fact that the '93 is a 4L60 (non electronic) transmission. The bad news is, a '93 F-Body uses a very unique 4L60. Only a '93 unit will work in your car.

Yes, technically a 4L60 is SIMILAR to a 700R4, but not the same. The 4L60 for your '93 uses a 5 pin, round case plug. All other 700's use a 4 pin (maximum), square plug. The '93 4L60 has an extra switch on the valve body. The transmission uses a different valve body, separator plate, wiring, and reverse imput housing.
Be aware that a 700 will work without throwing a code for lock-up. If you don't hook up the lock-up, you'll burn the 3-4 clutches up.

ok im a dumba** when it comes to an automatic tranny. i'd take a manual over an automatic any day. put that in dummy terms for me frank! are you saying if i change the plug it would make the lock up work ? I dont have the cash to get it built how i won't it right now and won't until i re-enlist or until tax time. whichever comes first. Around here they are trying to sale used 4l60e's for 8-900 bucks. i got a 700r4 sitting back home in sc with the wiring harness to boot. i wuld appreciate if you could explain how to make it work if its possible
