i am putting a 6.2l diesel in an 03 Astro..... thats right i said Astro... lol.. it has 2" frame spacers and HD varible coil springs so i do nt think clearance or weight is an issue... but the tranny and coolind that big boy might.... looking to use the 4l60e but i don't know what all is needed to convert to a 700r4.... would you have any idea what other problems i might have with my Astro HD project

 

4l60e is the same as a 700r4 except the fact the 4l60e has an electronic valve body

well.... if i change the valve body and add a TC, i am thinking that if that does not trick the ECM, maybe reprograming is in order..... trying to swap out as little as i need to so would like to keep the trans.... but cost plays a big role.... any one want to trade a 4l60e for a working th700r4.... lol

 

why do u want to get rid of a 4l60e for the same thing? Call rossler, they have a manual setup for the 4l60es.

 

thanks i will give them a call..... the 6.2l diesel has no sensors so the 4l60e use of the ecm is the problem... 700r4 needs no ecm
