4L60 vs 4L60E

i'm not sure if i want to get a 4L60 with vavle body i can shift at the track and let it shift on the street ( cheaper lol) or the 4l60E straight up

what the pros and cons of it?
also the 4L60 will be alot easier and cheap to install also ( converting from a T-5)

new to the auto world any good advice is welcome

I would go with the 4L60 for the simplicity. Also I'm not sure about this but would have you to change your computer to run the electronic tranny?

Re: 4L60 vs 4L60E

It wouldn't be worth the hassle to me and I like the fact that I have control over the transmission (for the most part) and not the computer

Re: 4L60 vs 4L60E

You will need a tv cable and throttle body that will let you use it for the 4l60.
If your car is a 97 3.8 I don't know if the throttle body is available. If its an LT1 you will need a 93 throttle body. I would go with the 4l60e.

Re: 4L60 vs 4L60E

I'm assuming you have a 97 v6. To use the 4L60 you will need to hook up the tv cable from the trans to the TB. I don't know if a v6 TB has a place to connect the cable but I doubt it. As far as I know you have to have the tv cable to use a 4L60.

the 4L60 will not work properly without the TV cable.

The tv cable controls the shifting. It must be used and properly adjusted to use the 4l60.

You don't need the whole throttle body. All you need is the throttle cable bracket from a 93. You can get one from any GM dealer.
