What is the ups and downs on steep gears? Actually I was thinking maybe 5??. I will be running 28'' tires and a beefed up 700R4. I plan on finishing 1/4 at about 140mph.

 

that wil definately be in everdrive...even with a 28 inch tire...go with 3.73 they are fast enough and with your trap speed youll have to pull it to 7500 8000 to cross the end of the track...with that much power id actually reccoment somehtin around a 3.55 gear and a 9inch3.73 with 28 inch tires...better get that 700 built by some1 that knows what they are doing *cough* *cough* CPT

 

first off you better have a better rear end than the 10 bolt. gears that big will be very weak on such a small ring.

quick calculation should have you passing 140mph at 5700 rpms or so in overdrive with the 4.88s. and with 5.14s you'll be only running 132mph or so.
