450 miles enough--clutch break in???

Spec 4 clutch. 450-miles should be enough for a break in right?

My SPEC 4 didnt make it half that far before getting all the power put to it. As long as you surfaced your flywheel and everything is in good shape, I see absolutely no reason why a synthetic material clutch would need that many miles to break in

i babied mine for 1k. stopped babying it at that point, but i didnt beat on it either. It didnt behave any different until i got annoyed with the chatter at 2500 miles, so i flogged it and got it hot. The next day it was 50% better, and also improved again the next couple of times i beat on it. I think my break in totalled 3k miles

ditto on that with my zoom clutch, the chatter is just now starting to subside with it. Occasionally if its REALLY cold it returns, (like say the car sits for 4 days lol)

I never had a bit of chatter out of my SPEC 4. I also gave mine 2000 miles and no less. I had a friend install the same clutch at the same time as mine but he only gave it 500 miles and it didnt make it 10,000 miles. I just logged 50,000 miles on mine and ALOT of stop and go traffic in the past 2.5 years. It IS slipping now but I think Ive got the longest life out of a SPEC stage 4 yet. AND Im only running 3.23 gears.... just think if I would have had 4.10s and my clutch wasnt working so hard to get my car to launch!! Its hard telling how long it would have lasted.
