400 turbo
I am going to put a turbo 400 in my lt1 car, my 4l60e hasnt had 4th gear for awhile now so i am used to keeping it under 65 0n the highway , i was wondering if there were any other drawbacks with a 400 that i might be aware of before finally going through with the swap

Re: 400 turbo
The RPM on the hiway with steep gears is the only drawback as far as I am concerned.
I run a Rossler RMVB TH400 and its the best thing I have done to the car. It has now eaten the 3.73 gear 10 bolt I had in there and ate a Ujoint so I will be upgrading the rear at the first of the year.
Throw the TH400 in there and don't look back.

Re: 400 turbo
yes, I started with the motor, nitrous cam,2618 srp pistons scat i beams gm 1053 forged crank for flexing, ported heads. probably bout 400 -425hp n/a, but ready for another 300 on the bottle, for all the qoutes i have had on building the most extreme 4l60 minus convertor, I can build a 1000 plus hp th 400 with a neil chance convertor and pulling those trannies buy yourself and without a lift sucks i only want to do it one more time, then i'll start from the yoke back

Re: 400 turbo
Carl Rossler knows these things inside and out.

PS: I hated the car without OD, but it was awesome at the track.
