4.3 V6 4l60e on LT1?

I have a spare 4l60e from a 4.3 liter 95 astro van with low miles, my question is can the 4l60e from the astro van be used on a 95 lt1? I know the smaller v6's used in 4th gens cannot be used but from what I remember the 4.3 should have the same bolt pattern as a regular small block.

If it can be used, should I use the TC from the van or use the one from my LT1. The LT1 tranny has over 130k on it and is starting to slip pretty bad between second and third. Also if any of the transmission gurus are looking in, if the TC from the van were to be used would it have the same stall speed as the one from the LT1?

As long as its 2wd its will work, The vans converter may have a slightly higher stall .

I have installed a 4L60 out of an Astro in a 93 Z28 before. It got me to Bristol and back from the race but it was slipping quite alot at WOT. I raced a mustang the next week and it went from 4gears to 2 quick. You will have to use the Tail Shaft from yours, It will fit but I would not recommend it as i'm sure the gearing/clutches are different. I dont know what kind of shape mine was in prior to. I just know that the LT1 ate it alive so it was not a speed trip to bristol due to the slipping. Hope that helps.

The transmission from the Astro van was in excellent condition as I was using it as a DD for a few months, then the waterpump went, and it sat for a month now the fuel pump won't work so I'm giving it to to someone else who just wants it for parts. I'm building up my LT1 and figure since I have a spare trans with a good working history vs the one used in the camaro which has a known slippage problem I could just swap them over without any additional cost on my end. If I blow the one out of the astro so be it, I would have needed a rebuild on the other one anyway.

Does anyone have any other information relating to differences in the two transmissions?

You may want to swap the servo the F body would have a Vette servo and larger one than the astro van. As for as the rest of the internals they are pretty much twins. I can off the top of my head remember wether the 95 astro had a long or short linkage shaft so you may have to swap that
