Question 4.10's or stay stock for my setup NOW?! ---

Right now I only have a setup that runs mid 14's (cai, gran maf, 1le elbow, air foil, underdrive pulleys, edel. mid headers, catted y pipe, 3" flowmaster catback, and a short throw shifter with a centerforce clutch, torque arm, panhard bar, lca's, rel. bracket, subframe connectors, strut brace) ....but I have a full le2 setup, stroker crank, and a 125 shot waiting for a rebuild in the next year, and a set of coilovers and bilstein shocks.

Should I stay stock 3.42's or should I get my TA girdle installed (with bearing protectors ) and get my 4.10's installed NOW? I run the 315, 17 tire/wheel combo on the rear.

I was thinking of mods I should do before I get my madz28 tune ( so he can tune for the speedometer change in this instance ). Its my DD , but I run it at the track atleast 2x's a month. I want it to be in the 13's until I get the rebuild ... right now I am concentrating on my Syclone so the le2 stuff is on hold for awhile

Thanks for your opinons ---

What elevation are you running in that only gives you mid 14's out of that combo?

That was my first time to the track, lol...I live in St Louis, Missouri.

I went with my buddy and his 05' GTO (8k miles on it)and he couldnt pull anything better than a 14.1 @102 ... I was 14.6 @ 97 (with 136k miles) ... we both were pulling 2.4 60's, lol. Practice makes perfect??? ---

* btw this was before I got my suspension mods, just the panhard was on *

You have no traction. I think you need for practice (not to be rude). If your running 315 and the best you can pull is a 2.4 60' then you have issues big time with traction. I was able to pull a 2.1 60' with 245's. With Radials I should be able to pull a 60' well under 2 seconds. Thats were you should be. All I have is suspension. No engine mods. My buddy with a 93Z pulled a 1.91 with Radials and only Headers,Control arms and TB. So yeah considering its an M6 then you need to practice man. Either your launching way to high or its bogging on take off b/c of to low RPM. I dump at around 2200rpm's with those 245/45r16. With a 315 I would dump around 2600-3200rpm's

First, Learn to drive

Second, get good tires

Third, any future mod that may add power or mechanical advantage

You can get the 4.10's but I'd recommend some Really sticky Slicks or radials and Line-lock. I would say some Hoosier's would work. On a 15x10 rim.

I have some vette sawblades 17x10 that I will get some slicks on ... and an slp line lock waiting on install (it may be next in line to be added now that you mention it). Thanks a ton for the ideas ---

17's are not recommended for Drag Racing. 15's and 16 but 17's start getting heavy and the rotation mass will effect your ET. I would get some DragLites. Some 15x10's would be perfect. Thats some serious traction for ya, with some 295-50r15 BFG radials. Then again you can run some 315 Nitto Drag Radials, but that seems like over kill unless your in the 500hp Range.
