anyone know how much or where to get a overdrive unit. Also, is it worth keeping the gears and change the trans or just change the gears?

wouldn't it be cheaper to do a 700r4 swap. They about the same leght so you can reuse the driveshaft, the mounts, cables, etc

 

A 700 is longer, so no, you can't re-use the driveshaft. I'd look for a 200-4R instead of a 700 anyway. Has a 2.76 first gear compared to a 3.06 and the overdrive is .67 instead of .70 so your RPM's will be lower. With that trans (200) you can most likely reuse your driveshaft.

it depends on who built them. A lot of the GN guys are running beefed up 200's. The 200's can be made really strong, and so can the 700's. It's really up to you. I'm sure a built 200 would do anything you'd ever need. How wild is this 333? More or less a stock build with a bore or what?

 

not wild. only thing stock on the motor is the heads, which are ported. Def not pushing out too much power. Soon i am gettin heads and later a blower, but by the time i get a blower this trans will be long gone.

 

I would swap in a 4 speed auto before you get rid of your gears. My auto with 4.10s is at 3k at 75 mph so it not too bad.
