4:10 install question...
4:10 install question...
Car has 134K on it, and i am going with 4:10's
My car still spins a posi during burnouts etc...think i should still find a cheap posi unit for the install? do you think this is nessecary to get..(from Ratech)Deluxe Kit: Includes pinion shims, carrier shims, crush sleeve, pinion seal, pinion nut, ring gear bolts, cover gasket, pinion & carrier bearings, PLUS wheel bearings and seals. (All of the small parts and pieces necessary to RESTORE an axle to like new condition!)
Or should i just get the regualr install kit?
Any opinions?

Re: 4:10 install question...
Get the deluxe kit. It'll save you time from having to go to the parts store. A lot of that stuff in that kit will replace the stuff that's almost guaranteed to get damaged on it's way out. The wheel bearings are a good idea to replace if you haven't done it on the car yet.
I wouldn't replace the carrier (posi). If you're still laying two strips of rubber and not one there's no reason to get another. Usually when they break they don't take anything else with them and of course a posi failure is nothing more than slippage where there isn't supposed to be any. Plus you can always plan for that in the future, the carrier is fairly easy to replace, and I doubt you'll have to make any adjusments to backlash or pinion depth if you do replace it.
