3 channel 9"

Why won't someone make a 9" rear end with 3 channel ABS on it?

For those of us that like to road race, keep our ABS and run a high hp motor there isn't much choice other than to keep throwing gears at a 10 bolt. 12 bolts are ok I guess but I want to run a locker and so far I haven't seen one availble for for the F body 12 bolts out there, along with that I think a 9" with a lightweight housing and alum. center would be only slightly heavier than a 10 bolt.

Just a question.

I wouldn't mind using a 9" either and want 3 chnl abs support. Every time I ask anyone about it they just tell me to use a 12 bolt.

I dont were I saw it but if you order a 4 channel set from moser you can use one of the axle relucter rings if you fab up some facy mounting bracket to use you 3 channel sensor. It will take some smarts to make it work but it can be done!
Also someone took a timing gear and had it machined for a light press fit over the tranny yoke then fabed up a bracket to the rear of the tranny and relocated the sensor there to the timing gear. I dont think the amount of teeth of the gear is as important as it is for it just to have it counting something??

DONT GET A LOCKER FOR ROAD RACING !! You kill yourself trying to exit corners. as soon as you give a little gas arround a corner it locks up and jerks the car VIOLENTLY!! I have one and drag is the only purpose for it!!

You know thats really funny because thats what I thought for a long time, but a lot of the road racers I've seen use Detriot lockers, in fact the center section that I'm looking at getting has a Detroit locker in it and its out of a TransAm car.

Randy's Ring and Pinion shows a Detroit Locker for a passenger 12 bolt. If that's what used to convert to F-body.

DTS makes dana 60's with ABS. They told me a torque arm version is in the works. Mopar sure grip will handle any D1.

I asked Moser a few years ago at the Winternationals down here in So Cal. They said they have tried everything, but cannot make it work. There just isn't enough room in the housing.

There is a way to put abs on a 9 inch or other aftermarket rear end. I have a huge email file someone sent me on the topic. You have to make a reluctor ring to mount on the driveshaft yoke then move your ABS sensor out of the rear and mount it over the new sensor on the DS. I hope to get the gear i ordered monday and have it machined for the driveshaft this week and then this weekend install my 8.8 if it shows up. I will get some pics and try to document if this works. I can email people the email i got from another member but it is 1500k just for fair warning.

My 3-channel ABS has been working on my 9-inch (Moser) for about 3 years now. I am the one who made a reluctor out of a timing gear and mounted it on the yoke of the driveshaft. My ABS works just like stock and has never given me any problems.
