a buddy of mine is buying a rear for his 02 ss,now i know it has traction control,and which makes it a 4 channel correct? and the rear he is buying is supposed to be out of a firehawk,close to the same year.im hoping it is a 4 channel as well, but if it isnt,is there anyway of swapping the 4 channel stuff to that rear? his car only has 23xxx miles,and im going to do the swap for him,i really dont want to do something halfa$$ to his car. i think someone has messed with his rear sometime before either way,because its a 323 in a ss ls1 6 speed..didnt they come with 342??? anyways,sorry if this has been answered before.i tried a couple searchs...

also we are going to run royal purple in the rear,is the posi additive just that,or is there different weights for that as well.thanks alot.

 

ls1s' with 6speed came with 3.42s'.
converting a 3channel rearend to use in a 4channel car requires swapping the axles and backing plates/shields.
