Re: 3.73 gears

It'll feel like a whole different car next time you drive it, period. I remember when i did that swap, granted i also had a newly rebuilt trans(that wouldnt shift ';..;') put in and had swapped to 18" wheels out back(my car was also an a4 at that time).. but i remember a huge grin comin across my face as i pulled off the lot the first time with the 3.73. I think you'll be very pleased with the results

When I went from 2.73's to 3.42's, I had a grin from ear to ear for a week.....going to 3.73's, you may just wet yourself! LOL I'm assuming you had the computer reprogramed for the gears? If I didn't do so much higway driving with my car I probally would have went 3.73's, but I love the 3.42's for all around driving. Good luck with it and let us know how you like'em!

Re: 3.73 gears

I just did the swap to 4.10 from 2.73's. I gained a whopping .1 in the 1/4. I gained about .6 sec from a converter swap to a 3200. With an M6 you'll probably pick up
at least a half second in the quarter.

Re: 3.73 gears

55 MPH = 1700 RPM's
65 MPH = 2000 RPM's
That's according to the HIGHLY accurate factory tach!
Mike
PS. I'm pretty sure that the Converter was locked at that point.
