3.73 gears...
Re: 3.73 gears...
My 1st set of Richmond 3.73s didn't last a year before snapping 4 teeth off the ring gear BUT I believe the cause was poor gear setup by the shop that did install and improper break-in (and a really hard hitting 1-2 A4 shift). Richmond says in instructions to drive 10mi then let rear cool for 30 min and to do this a couple of times to prevent new gears from overheating. I didn't know this and the shop said nothing about it so I drove it 60mi home at 70-80mph
The second time around I knew this and had a different competent shop do the install. Gears are much quieter this time and no probs.
