what do u plan on doing with ur car, do u want a highway warrior or do u do alot of drag racing
if u do drag racing i would
1: get dynoed
2: find out where my power range is
3: buy the gears that match where my power would be

thats just somthing to look at and ive been told do do many times

if ur a higway warrior then the 4.10s 4.11s might not be what u want
3.73 may be ok ,

as for that its ur choice

With a 26" tall tire and 3.73's, you'll be at about 1700 rpm @ 70mph. 4.10's will be about 1850 rpm. Not a whole lot of difference.

I had 4:10's in my stock 10-bolt. When I put in the 9 inch I went with 3:89's and have regreted it ever since. I have a set of 4:11's waiting to go in and if I didn't already have those I would go with 4:30's. I trapped over 113 with the 4:10's and still did not hit the rev limiter (6400).

Not a whole lot of difference on the low end in terms of being able to comfortably pull the gear, and not that significant in terms of friction losses and MPG either. However, there may be a significant difference in creature comfort at around lets say 80 mph. My exhaust starts to get loud like a rock concert at 20-2100 rpms. Not a harmonic drone, just significantly louder. Cruising at 80 and being able to hold a reasonable conversation was worth more to me than the incremental gains in 1/4 mile performance. But hey, thats just my opinion reflecting my experiences.

I've got 4:10 gears in my car with a six speed and 25" tall 315x35 bfg's on 17" ZR1 wheels. It goes through the traps in 4th gear at 6500 RPM which is perfect for me. 11:70@122mph 1:84 60' NA

Ok, Help ME out with this one please... I have a 383 with AFR 190 heads and a t56. The short block was put together at Nu-Tek and he worked the heads pretty good and cut a cam to match, 232/240 with .576/.576 lift.I have Hooker lt's and I plan on spaying every now and then......3.73's or 4.10's ???
I am not trying to make a highway basher but dont want to run out of gear either. Thanks Eric

I would lean more towards 3.73's if you plan to spray. Im staying N/A, and I am moving up to 4.11's. Just got the gears last week as a matter of fact

3.73s if u do any kind of racing on a highway, or planning on spraying.
It sucks going into 5th while racing hehe

4th is good to around 124 @ 6800 with 4.11s
4th is good to around 139 @ 6800 with 3.73s

Thats pretty much what I have been hearing, plus I think it being a 383 will make up for any low end i lose. Thanks Eric
