2800 stall speed
2800 stall speed
I'm looking to get the Z alittle faster this year at the track.
Last year best time in 95 degree heat, 90-95% humidity
I ran a best of 8:31 averaged a 8:45 (track is roughly 60 feet short) I was told to add a few tenths so I'll stick to the '60 foot times
60 foots are 2.00-2.05's on a nearly full tank on bald Protenza's. Tank was kept full for traction; tried it half and 1/4 alot of wheel spin and 2:20's 60' s
Last run of the year I ran nitto555r's (nearly bald) still ran 2:00's
MPH won't be acurate due to track length but speeds were anywhere between 75-79 depending on weather. Launching is at 1200-1400, anymore and I spin bad and get a nasty 2:2-2:30 60'
Cars mods are
CAI by K&N, Trick Flow Elbow black powder Coated,Mid length headers (unknown maker) aftermarket Y pipe, bolt in cat delete pipe, flowmaster 3" to flowmaster muffler. Rear axle swap to a ss rear with 3:42's. Centerline rims 245/50/16 Protenza's. 160 thermostat (reprogrammed computer; for cooling, higher shift points (shifts at 6100-6200) fans, rev limiter, and speed limiter removal). Thats all I know for know, previous owner didn't know mods, I found the original owner and informed me of the mods he could recall.
Parts I have to install this spring/winter
LT4 springs, lightweight retainers, 1.6 roller rockers, MAF granatelli, BFG drag radials (245/50/16) on five spoke firebird rims.
two pending deals, stock axle housing with moser differential, with moser axles and 3:73's and the meat of the question a possiable T/C change. Its a 2800 with lockup, (I bleive mine doesn't lock up, ift goes thru 1st-OD, then thats it, thersno more slight drop in RPMS) Is that standard? I'm waiting for more info (maker, etc etc) but its brand new from a failed project. I'm unsure about a proper stall speed. This car isn't a "D.D" but I don cruise it alot when time allows, With interstate trips from time to time. I'm not looking for the wolrd, just advice if 2800 is a decent stall speed to get me moving a little faster off the line at the strip and the street. I have a few to many friends looking to bump me off to claim they are faster..LOL ...Don't mind a lose, just not gonna make it easy for them. thanx
MAF number E.O #d-471-1 for Granatelli MAF
given to me, whats the application?

Personally I would go with a 2800 to 3000 9.5 inch converter with the higher stall and efficiency of the small converter added to the lower weight reciprocation's mass you should get and excellent bump up
