2002 A4 w/2.73, Have Questions

I've got a 2002 Z28 with A4 and 2.73 gears. The warranty on this car is up in 3 weeks, and I've got the itch

However, I'm also debating adding the GM Extended Warranty to the car. I don't have any serious mods on the car, and gears would be about as far as I'd go for now. I do have a Predator to change the gear ratios in the PCM if I do this.

My question is twofold. I would like some additional "get up and go" from a stop, but I'm not a serious track racer either. I'm not out to get that last .1 MPH at the drags (although I have been and it's fun). I'd like better acceleration, but also to keep the car streetable and not totally kill the mileage. I'm thinking 3.42 might be enough?

Second question is does GM sell other gears for this car through any sort of "official" performance parts division? I'd be willing to pay a little more and have the dealer install the gears if I thought it might help maintain the extended warranty, should I buy it.

Of course, if the dealer's price is 2x what it would cost elsewhere, I'd take the chance that they wouldn't even know I had them assuming I had a problem elsewhere with the car under the warranty.

Thanks!

Thanks!
Either way, whether you go 3.42's or 3.73's Its going to be a major difference when coming from 2.73's...You should definately get rid of them

I personally would go 3.73's...2800 rpms @ 80 isnt too bad
