2.73's to 3.73's
2.73's to 3.73's
well im switching gears and was told i need a new carrier. I was looking online and saw the eaton posi and the slp unit. I was just wondering which one would be better. Thanks
Re: 2.73's to 3.73's
You can get 3.73's to fit your 2-series carrier (that's not a problem) but if you wanted to upgrade to an Eaton posi unit, then now's the time
. The Eaton uses clutch packs like the "old-school posi's" used to. Otherwise you've likely got the Auburn diff, which has "cone shaped" spider gears and springs in between to maintain force and prevent the axles from turning independent. They work good, but wear out eventually.

wow i didnt know they made them in 2 series. The websites i looked at showed only three series. I wish i would have known that before i bought them. Oh well thanks for the info though i guess i will look into the auburn posi unit too.
