You are not installing anything soon unless you bought the correct 3:73 gears made for a 2-series carrier.

Re: 2.73 to 3.73???

youll notice a huge difference in where you feel the power at. i remember when i first got my 3.73's in i could tell a difference before i ever touched the gas, granted i lost the difference when i moved up to the 18in. wheel a little, but it was still a giant leap in how hard it pulled from 0. the tires i had before the swap would just barely spin off the ilne with the 2.73, the 3.73 gears installed it would shred em at half throttle. mine are also the richmond gears, they dont make a whoel lot of noise for me just when cruising at a slowly decelerating speed, almost maintaining but just a little less... even then its hard to notice over the exhuast because i havent heard em since i put it on lol

fuel mileage will definetly go to hell.
i made the jump from 2.73 up to 3.73
once i seen how much more gas it consumed.......they came right back out.

my friend is about to sell e the rear end out of his camaro that has 3.73's and he drives his daily, he told me that the gas mileage isnt really a problem for him unless he takes the car out on the freeway. other than that it never sees over 45mph because it never leaves city limits.

mine pull fine on the highway. I think if i were to do it again, id go with 3.42s for an auto though. I think they would be better for a car with heavy mods. The way your car is now, 3.73s are good though.

Re: 2.73 to 3.73???

If you do any highway driving over the speed limit the car will feel like it needs a 5th gear revving 3000 rpm at 80 with stock height tires.
The car will pull a lot harder in all the gears but you'll lose about 2 mpg.
3.42's will be the best if you do any highway driving
