Re: 2.73 or 3.23

Mine are located in the drivers side door jamb and I got a 97 also.
Here is the breakdown:
GU2 Axle, Rear 2.73 Ratio
GU4 Axle, Rear 3.08 Ratio
GU5 Axle, Rear 3.23 Ratio
GU6 Axle, Rear 3.42 Ratio

Re: 2.73 or 3.23

3.23s have "1" on the shifter.

2.73s don't.

Re: 2.73 or 3.23

3.23's can select 1st gear, 2.73 can't.

Just trying to help, along with checking your RPO codes.

Re: 2.73 or 3.23

Why GM even bother putting in 2.73's if they suck?

Re: 2.73 or 3.23

I've had 2.73's, 3.73's, and 4.10's in my car. 2.73's aren't "The Devil" that people make them out to be. The only time they seem to suck is initially off the line. On the highway, they rock. Maybe they just complement the power band of the LS1 better though?

BTW: only LT1 cars blocked of 1st gear w/2.73's. My LS1 w/2.73's CAN go into 1st gear right from the factory. That wasn't just a screw up either! They're all like that.
