Post 1994 Z28 Speedometer change to match new gears

My stock rear end (auburn) failed and while they were in there the shop suggested that a change to 3.73 from 2.73 gears was a good idea if I was running at the track. Made sense until they discovered that they can't sem to change the spedo to match the new gears on my 1994 z28. Is there a way to do this? there are no gears to change and apparently GM's tech can't fix it either? They sugest that a $600cdn Hypertech programmer can do it? Suggestions? what can be done to address this? the new gears would be nice, but a spedo that's out by a significan amount isn't good for a daily driver. suggestions?

Thanks,

I'm going to see about getting a cable and then look at getting a program, Tuner cat also has a program that looks promising as well.

madz28 computer tune

dont buy a hypertech or any of that other handheld junk...spend the 100$ on a mail order tune from Madz28 and your speedo will be adjusted, 93 octane power tune (10-15 hp), and car will run cooler

MADZ28 all the way
