1993 z28 4.10 VSS question

Hi guys, i just picked up a 1993 z28 A4 to go bracket racing in street class. Previously had a FBO '12 6L Caprice.

My question is if the 1993 uses the 700r4 4L60 non e, not needing a PCM, just ECU and you change gears to something like 4.10, is there a specific reason the vehicle speed sensor needs to be changed? I couldnt find a parameter that uses mph in the ecu when i looked through a posted list.

i know you can change the gears for 3.73, but i found it odd this never comes up in the 3.73 vs 4.10 debate

Re: 1993 z28 4.10 VSS question

The VSS drives the speedometer, and is used for cruise control via the ECM. If it's a track car, and you don't use cruise control and don’t care if the speedo/odometer is accurate, doesn’t need to be changed.

If you want to correct for the gear change, read this thread:

…. and follow up on the thread linked in post #3.
