1993 borg warner/ZF six speed???
1993 borg warner/ZF six speed???
I have been doing some research and I have found that the lt1 camaros of 1993 did not use the same Borg Warner t-56 transmission that was used in the 1994-newer z28/ss camaros.I read it used the ZF six speed transmission.I also read that in 2000 Tremec bought out Borg Warner and that the 00-02 Camaros was called the Tremec t-56 transmission but has the same gear ratio as the Borg Warner. Finally I also learned that the lt1 uses a pull type clutch while the ls1 uses a push type clutch.I was just curious about the accuracy of what I read???

The 93 did not use a ZF transmission, the ZF was reserved for the Corvette.
The 93s had a Borg Warner like all the other LT1 Fbodies.
It did however have the M28 designation, which to my understanding was a set of gears which more closely resemble a C5 Z06, being shorter than the other transmission, known as M29. I might have those two backwards.
The LT1 Fbodies all used a Borg Warner T56 transmission that utilize a 28 spline input shaft, and are known to be a bit stronger than the LS1 versions.I believe the LS1 is a 12 spline input shaft, but not really sure. The LT1 cars do use a pull type, while the LS1 does use a push type.
