Is a 12 bolt the only solution to our problems??

The two practical solutions are a 9" or a 12-bolt. I understand a Dana 44 can also be adapted, as can a variety of other rear ends depending upon your skills and budget. But the only "bolt-in" solutions are a 12-bolt or 9", both of which can be had with the correct mounts, brackets, etc.
But if you are asking if the 10-bolt con be beefed up sufficient for drag racing with sticky tires, the answer is "no".
You may want to post this in the "Drivetrain" forum for some other answers.

The Moser 9" can be had with 4 channel ABS (Most 93-97 AUTOS and 98-02 cars?) and the 12 bolts 3 and 4 channel support is out there. There is also a place doing Ford 8.8" bolt ins and say ABS support is coming but not available yet. This can be had at http://www.extremechassis.com/ but I feel it is not worth the price when a 12 bolt can be had for little more.

what exactly in the 10 bolts make them so weak? Which parts usually fail? I havent ever blown one up but im guessing its not the ring&pinion. Is it the axles themselves and or their splines? Im thinking it has more to do with the posi, side, and spider gears. If that is the case i know the cheapest solution: it only involves a welder and a case of beer. But thats only for a budget race only car, hehe. But seriously id like to know what the problems with the 10 bolt are and why there isnt a better solution than swapping in a whole new rear-end. Thanks.
