12 bolt or 9 " driveshaft question

Can you use the stock driveshaft when switching to either rearend or do both of them require a different driveshaft? I am looking at the moser and strange rearends. Thanks

This past weekend I pulled out a busted 10-bolt and replaced it with a Moser 12-bolt. Used the same driveshaft. Drove great until the left rear caliper come lose because I forgot to torque down the 2 mounting bolts. The brake line busted and the caliper spun around inside the wheel like the ball on a roulette table. Interesting experience that I hope I don't repeat any time soon.

The length should be fine but you will need a bastard U joint. To go from the stock size to a 1350.

Any good driveshaft shop should stock the u-joint you need. The stock driveshaft will work but I would upgrade at some point. I had a 3.5" steel driveshaft made with upgraded yolk's- only was $300 and he pretty much guaranteed the transmission would break before the driveshaft did. He said if I did manage to break it to bring it back and he would give me a new one since he has yet to have anyone break one. To me thats a guy who is confident in his work!

A Strange 12 bolt goes in just like a stocker. And if you get a new one from them they include the crossover U-joint. I still have my new u-joint out in the shed because I went with a new driveshaft with all 1350 joints.

Ditto on the Strange.... stock DS fits, and they inlcude the cross-over u-joint. In the past, I've seen people who bought Moser 12-bolts complain the stock DS was not the correct length.
