12 bolt - 4 Channel into a 3 Channel Car
Re: 12 bolt - 4 Channel into a 3 Channel Car
In post #12 it shows that ABS harness plug. If it was a 4 channel would that also be the TCS plug as well? Or is there a different area where the TCS wiring would go?
Re: 12 bolt - 4 Channel into a 3 Channel Car
Looking at the 96 factory manual, appears the connector is in the same location with ABS (only) and with ABS+TCS. It is referenced as connector C405 which has 6 pins.
With ABS (only) there is a black wire from the sensor on pin C2, and a white wire from the sensor on pin C3. They feed pins A3 and B2 on the EBCM.
With ABS+TCS there is a red wire from the left rear wheel sensor on pin C2. A black wire from the left rear wheel sensor on pin C3. They feed pins A3 and B2 on the EBTCM.
A white wire from the right rear wheel sensor on pin D1 and a brown wire from the right rear wheel sensor on pin D2. They feed pins A2 and B1 on the ECTCM. Those pins are 'not used' on the ABS (only) EBCM.
Maybe somebody didn't get so immersed in the differences between ABS and ABS+TCS as I did, plugged the ABS+TCS harness connector into C405, and got lucky because there was now a 2-wire sensor connected to pins C2 and C3, which just happened to work.

Yes that's kind of what I was thinking too? I'll have a look under the car soon, as I have it up on my hoist right now. So strange though. Guessing someone changed the rear end to a 4 channel and did exactly what you said Injuneer, didn't get immersed into it just plugged it in and it worked?
