Hi Board -

Like many on here, I compromised my 10 bolt after a few hard launches. I have a 94Z28 M6 with a 4.10, and rear girdle.

I need to get it back together to last for a few months (no more hard launches).

The following appears to be damaged:

reluctor wheel - a few chips out of teeth, but nothing missing...

Spider gears - top one is missing 5 teeth. Others do not appear to be damaged.


The ring and pinion appear to be fine.

Can I replace the spider gears and baby it for a few hundred miles until I get the new rear?

 

seems alittle odd that the reluctor ring was damaged and the ring and pinion wasnt.

I would double check the ring and pinion first. Then if it does look okay, then yeah I would put another spider gear in it for the time being. You have nothing to lose.

 

The reluctor wheels appears to be damaged due to debris floating around and getting jammed between it and the case.

So where do I get a spider gear kit?

 

at one time you could get replacement spider gears at advance.

Ok, I got a used Limited slip unti off another guy on this board. How do I remove the retainer (with the springs in it) that sits in between the gears so I can get the spider gear out?
