02 S-series Rear-End into 96 Z28 M6??

I've got a posi rear out of a 2002 S-10 Blazer Xtreme that I have in the garage from a previous project. It's a fully intact axle assembly complete with disc-brakes. I have Richmond 4.10s installed in the rear-end. Is it possible, and if so, what is involved, to use this rear-end in my 96 z-28 M6. I only ask because I'm thinking they're the same size and I wouldn't mind getting away from the 3.23s that are in the camaro. I assume it would only be possible to swap the rear-end assembly, not the full axle, and i'm fine with that.

Thanks for your help.

As info, car is bone stock, 100K miles.

Re: 02 S-series Rear-End into 96 Z28 M6??

your terminology
fully intact axle assembly/full axle=rear end
rear-end assembly=carrier/posi

the Z has/uses 28 spline axles, the S10 uses ? spline axles but probably 28 spline. If it has 28 spline, the carrier/posi with ring gear and pinion gear from S10 is usable/swapable into Z rearend. Both would have to be completely dis-assembled and setup would be very involved. pinion depth, pinion preload, lash, carrier bearings preload.
