will drag radials break my 10-bolt

i know that 10 bolt rears and m6s have problems once drag radials are put on, but will my auto break the rear if i throw on some comp t/a drags? ive got 2.73 out back and the car only has minor bolt-ons?

Your 10-bolt has a MUCH better chance of living than it would with an M6. Granted, a 10-bolt is still weak...

Friend of mine had no problems on his A4 '00 LS1 with Nittos and ET Streets.

i wouldnt worry about the rear end if all you have is minor bolt ons and its an A4 car there is a couple of guys here locally that are deep in the 11's with auto and slicks. my car m6 w/centerforce and stock rear end has taken some abuse i run DR's all the time i have had both bfg's and nitto's pulling mid 1.9's 60's with a bolt on LT1 car and the rear has no ta cover also just a rusted up stock cover on it

It'll add more pressure to it, but I dont think it'll break it if its in good condition.Nittos did break 3 teeth on my richmond 373s the day after the install

i would say that u are going to be okay. with those gears, u will be fine. you wont push the boundries of the 10 bolt w/ a A4 until u are low 12's/high 11's IMO and some 3.73/4.10 gear. run em, youll love em!

I broke mine on drag radials. The bottom line is driveline shock and frequency. I was racing two tracks, two classes, plus going some rounds (over 400 passes a year).

With an auto, I'd say go for it. My M6 car ripped the gears out after only 4 runs with DRs. Bolt ons and 3.73s.

Arrow 'Pends on how LUCKY you are and...

Good rearend prep by professionals. My advice is run the 80/140 gear lube for best shock cushioning.

While not as impressive as Mr. Redd's numbers... I have went
11.61 on 10" Hoosier slicks and a 4140 converter that can run low 1.5X sixtys. BUT... I have done every trick to the 10 bolt I can.

2.73 gears give you a better chance too. They are thicker and more teeth to share the load. Last year I ran a 4.56 gear!!!
9 tooth pinion! WITH the same Hoosier slicks.

I've been running Redbird's 10 bolt since '95, only thing broke was that NEW Eaton Posi with the bad spider gears in it.
Stock Auburn held up fine. Now run a welded-up open carrier.

Good Luck,
Hink

With those gears I do not see any breakage problems for you. Good luck.
