why am i getting slower?

i have a 97 Z28, automatic, 3.23s. long tube headers, catback, cai......and the little mods, like tb bypass, lt4 knock module.

my best run is 13.89 @ 99 mph with a 2.06 60ft

okay, about 3 months ago i went to the track for the very first time. it was beech bend raceway in kentucky.

i ran
14.04 @ 99.6 mph 2.1 60 ft
14.1 @ 99.7 mph 2.2 60 ft
14.04 @ 99.6 mph 2.1 60 ft
14.1 @ 99.7 mph 2.2 60 ft.

all on street tires, 100% humidity, 80 degress outside, 400 ft above sea level.

then, a couple days later, i went to IRP, in indianapolis.

there, i ran:

14.04 @ 98.4 mph 2.4 60ft
14.07 @ 97.8 mph 2.3 60ft
13.98 @ 98.3 mph 2.3 60ft
13.93 @ 98.2 mph 2.2 60ft
13.93 @ 98.2 mph 2.2 60ft
14.05 @ 98.0 mph 2.3 60ft

it was around 60 degrees, 40% humidity. (i realize the 60s need impovement.....)

then, about 3 weeks later, i went to IRP again, and i ran:

14.05 @ 97.6 mph 2.1 60ft
the rest of my passes were on nitrous....i've since sold the nitrous.
it was 85 degrees....really humid, not really sure.

then last friday i ran

13.89 @ 99 mph 2.06 60ft (drag radials, just toying with how to launch)

it was about 60 degrees out, 30% humidity.
that was the only pass i got to make, they wouldn't let me make anymore because i forgot a helmet.

but what i don't understand, is how i can get a 14.0 with a 2.4 60ft, but a 13.89 with a 2.0 60ft. shouldn't i get a 13.6 or better?

also, my ET and mph seem much slower than most peoples with the same mods.
my car has 112k and is still on the original optispark. so i'm thinking it may be dying on me. also, the y pipe is built all bassakwards, into the shape of T instead of a gentle flowing Y....stupid shop.

oh, and IRP is about 900 ft above sea level. it's got a rep for being a little slower than most tracks, maybe it's up hill or something. but no one runs what they "should".
exept a friend of mine who had a BONE STOCK 95 z28 with 2.73s, 13.6, on street tires, completely stock....and i don't get how i have 3.23s and i'm 2 tenths slower than his car was, and mine has headers/exhaust/cai

a week before he ran 13.6, he ran 14.7, a day or two later his opti died, he replaced it......and ran 13.6, but on the 14.7 run it seemed to run fine....that's why i'm thinking maybe my opti's going.

the weather is a big factor on these cars. You need to run the DA and do a correction to sea level for the different day to see if you actually slowed down or it was just the weather factoring in. I know that from a good spring like day to a hot summer like day I can loose up to .3. Also..your 60' is all over the place. .1 lost in 60' is at least .15 lost in et.

i realize the 60 ft is all over the place. all those runs exept one were on street tires, and 0 track prep because IRP is a buncha lazy old men. that cancel the even if there's a single cloud /rant

but like i said, in 80 degree, 100% humidity, i ran a best of 14.0 @ 99 mph

in 60 degree weather, around 40% humidity, i ran 13.9 @ 98 mph.

and the 60 foot was WORSE on the faster ET run.

and why'd my mph go down, in better weather?
