Who uses tubes with ther slicks?
I had always run my slicks tubeless untill just recently, I had a small puncture in one and instead of running one with a tube and one without I put tubes in both. The tubes I'm using are just regular passenger car tubes for right now, I have the correct hossier tubes but since I'm not going to a national event until next year I plan on waiting and putting the new tubes in a new set of slicks. My question is have any of you guys noticed a difference between running your slicks with tubes or without.

Me! And I'm glad I do. My friend took a video of my launch the other day at the track. That thing sat down on the tires so hard it looked liked the rims were hitting the pavement! I was running 11lbs, which gave me my best 60' to date. I would be afraid to do that without tubes. And think of going nearly 140mph at the "big end" with tires inflated to 11psi on a 4,000lb car

Tubes and rim screws for me bro.

No tubes here.
I did however screwed the tire to the rim.
This is the answer from Hoosier about tubes.
Should I use "tubes" in slicks and DOT drag tires?
ANSWER: The decision to run tubes is ultimately up to the racer. Hoosier drag tires are capable of safely running without tubes. The Quick Time DOT tires should be run with a tube when the tire is run on the street, but they can be run without tubes at the track. Race tires are inherently susceptible to air leakage due to being built of very light gauge material needed to perform in various racing applications. A decision to use a tube should be based on your application and needs.
