Who has switched from an LT1 to a standard SBC?

I am planning to change to one next winter if I can get my money together. Right now I plan on having a 427 sbc with a custom EFI setup with a FAST DFI. My goal is 625-650 fwhp, but if for some reason my money isn't as long as it needs to be I may build a 406 with the EFI setup. Still should be able to coax 600 hp out of it. Antbody done this? What have been your results?

With the heads available for a Gen1 SBC, and the Bigger bores you can use beit a 406 or 427, 600+ at the flywheel should be a walk in the park.

Good luck!

You need a MSD 8570 distributor. I have a Dart block with brodix heads and converted the carb style intake to F.I. I have a FAST system running F.I. www.madmanandcoracing.com you can see pics at my sight.
