what hooks better: bald or good street tires

Ive got two bald street tires on the back and two pretty good ones on the front. I know neither are gonna hook well, but of the two, whitch will hook better, providing I lower the PSI and all, im leaving for the track in 20 min so i gatta know!

Of course the good tires will hook better. Don't confuse bald tires with slicks.

Bald tires are not slicks. If the tires are bald, there's no rubber left to grip the pavement and if they're bald they're probably old so what little rubber is left is old, hard and dried out.

Use new tires.

if they are smooth all the way across they are junk. Radial tires hook best during about the last 15% of their life. But once they get to a certain point, they are junk
