Try finding all the factorysteel bolts/nuts with little or no pressure on them (electric harnesses,Battery bolt down,Dash,Radio,Vaulve cover,Fender,Front&Rear clip,Head light,Ect....)and try finding aluminim one's.

It's not much but every ounce counts in the long run.

Rear seat+ seatbelts

Is a good 40 pound savings for a day at the track. It only takes 5 minutes to take out or put in once your used to it. Even if you want to stay with full interior, whats it hurt for a run down the ol' strip?

My car weight with me in it is 2875 that with the fuel cell full. My car is stripped to the bone. This car is a limited street car so no expense in weight has been spared. I've tossed everything. The next form of weight reduction will include a lift off rear decklid with lexen glass and a new fiberglass dash board.

A Super Stock/C racer once told me, if you're trying to get 10 pounds off the car, don't look for 10 places to lose a pound. Look for 160 places to lose an ounce.

Weight reduction? hmmm

1. remove every single part of the interior that will unbolt, set aside
2. pull out all the sound deadener, leave the insulation
3. take a 1" hole saw, or unibit, and swiss cheese every single piece of metal you can see, as long as the trim will cover it
4. reinstall all the stuff you took out, skipping as many screws and brackets as you can stand (has to look good, right?)
5. If you don't carry people in the back seat (midgets?) leave the rear belts out
6. passenger side air bag.. heave ho!
7. remove the front and rear bumper supports
8. drop off the p/s pump.. just loop the hose on the rack (builds biceps, good for the beach! )
9. Pickup a set of alum LCA.. stiffer as well as lighter

After that, you start getting into comfort levels.. like do you
really like that a/c and anti-lock brake system?
Aluminum racing wheels.. big and littles are lighter than stock rims and 275/40 tires.

And it is interesting to note, when new the average SN95 Mustang is actually 50-100 lbs heavier than the average F-body.. go figure

And before I get flamed, I went a did a quick search:

01 Cobra 3430 01 GT 3273 00 GT 3375 02 Z28 3323

I swear, how many dead bodies do you guys have in the storage compartment when you weigh your cars? My 94Z with power everything and T-tops weighs in at 3750 with my big butt. Take me out and it drops to 3350. How can these cars weight be so different? Even if you throw in a full tank of gas its only about 100 lbs. I weighed mine with about a 1/2 tank, so that would only be about a 45 lb difference. What gives? Also, according to the f-body FAQ, which has the 95 z28 coupe listed at 3390, and the convertible at 3480.

Just curious, but have you dyno'd your car? The weight looked awful high, and by using your raceweight and e.t, I calculated horsepower. It seemed to be about 20 - 30 hp high. Lowering the weight to 3600 brought the power to about where I would expect. Not flaming you, just wondering why the car is so heavy? Have you weighed it on different scales to confirm?

I have not dynoed the car. The weight is with a full tank of fuel and me in it at E-Town. I have checked weight there about 15 times within the last 3 years and has always been within 10 lbs each time, always with a full tank. 20-30 hp high........guess its in the heads.

How much will the spare and jack actually remove? Kevin said it lost him 19 lbs. total, but on http://www.mycar.net/weight.cfm it says that they weigh in at around 38lbs. total. When I weighed mine it was close to this number also.

Damn dude, get some little guy to drive your car and you could go 12s.
My car weighs 3625 with me in it, I weigh 225.
I took out the spare and jack, no backseat, no AC.
I did add DD subframes along with various braces, also has stereo with stealthbox in it.
I plan on removing the bumper crap and the swaybar.
I have been toying with the idea of getting an aftermarket lift off hood and useing hood pins to hold it down and removing the stock hood latch and all the crap there in front.

Depends on what I have for lunch! LOL...385 actually. Most people say I carry it well and don't think I look over about 270 or so. I wish!

Sorry for the misinformation Blake, I realize my error, I placed a comma between tire and jack twice and it changed what I meant to say. The 19lbs was not including the tire itself, just the jack, rear floor mats, owners manual and stuff in the center console.
