Hey Sled,

That looked like a real good drag race between Wade and the Ford.

I was watching Wade's pass and at the end of the track just before the video ended and I got a flash back of a scene that resembled yours that I have watched to many times when we have been at the track running? Did you guy's burn a piston or hurt the motor?

PS Get my motor done.

See YA,

Again, I ask: WHEN THE DEVIL DID THE EIGHT SECOND BARRIER GET SURPASSED (LT1)????

Again, that ARE LS1 is rather quick as well, but come on...that is four tenths of a jump with no warning whatsoever.

Injuneer, Any input?

I don't know nothin'. I'm as curious as you are. I mention George only because of my personal involvement with his car.

I HIGHLY doubt it........but you never know I guess.

The fastest 4th Gen, an LT1 to boot, is sitting in a garage in VA as we speak. Some more NA track sessions are probably still in the plans, but the fogger is waiting to go on. So far he is the fastest 4th gen LT1 NA......but soon to take the crown for all 4th gens.

Joe is the man....

JWINN, do you have a video of my car? I don't follow you 100%...

As for the ARE Silver Z......
The motor is ok, its normal for the car I'll try to explain...

When Wade crosses the line he lets off the throttle and pulls the chute. The tranny we have goes into neutral (freewheels) whenever there is no throttle being used. So the RPM's come down to idle, which makes the vacuum pump almost not working. The vacuum pump is RPM related with a belt off the front pulley. More RPM, more Vacuum. When the chute hits, it nosedives the car, bottoms it out actually, and all the oil gets pushed to the front of the motor allowing the rods to pick it up and shoot into the front bores making it smoke since there is no vacuum and lots of pressure buildup. The front plugs always look different then the others. This track also has a short shutdown, so the chute is deployed right away at basically full speed to get it to slow down in time for the upcoming corner. Some smoke also comes from tire rub when you get out of it and the tire distorts.

We went 8's mid season last year with a LS1/LS1 Block/Head combo. This year year we went C5R heads/LS1 block (still) and went 8.70's untill we stepped up the spray and went 8.54 and best MPH of 168!
