Re: Vid of my 12.36 run

Got the easiest recipe for 12's for ya:

1) Financial advisor - married mine 16 years ago

2) Few good friends - CANTONRACER & Grease

3) Beer

4) Some more beer (your friends won't notice that it's 4am and keep working)

Re: Vid of my 12.36 run

Well that's the thing - I bought most of my parts used off of CANTONRACER.

Only new parts I have bought are the converter $480 shipped and valvetrain $200? can't remember

Got the headers, ignition, roller rockers, cam off of Canton.

Basically free underdrive pulley from Grease

E water pump was like $150

You can do it - just shop around and don't be afraid to buy some used parts here and there. Not sure I would buy a cam used unless I knew the person tho.

And don't fall into the "bigger is better is faster" trap - it's a falsehood. The correct combination will yield the results your looking for. Many times guys throw the biggest cam they can get their hands on because "it sounds cool" only to find out that the car doesn't run quite the way it "should". "Should" is the operative word.

I'm still trying to get the car to utilize the power that it currently has - so no more power parts for me - all suspension and seat time now.

Great run Aaron, glad to see your hard work paid off!

Now dont forget to pay-it-forward, I need a stall, GM846, and E-WP

Trying to keep the "help the fellow racers" cycle going! You free to hit D42 tomorrow night if it doesn't rain? First night of Wed points.

Re: Vid of my 12.36 run

Well, I really want to get out and get some times, but...my G/F wants to go with me and she works everynight. I am going to see if she can get off on a weeknight so I can figure out what this thing runs.
