Re: very dissapointed

A 1996 automatic with cat back and cold air only? That time sounds about right. DA can easily account for a couple of tenths either way...

Re: very dissapointed

I might see a need to vent like if you ran...hmmm, 15 seconds...but a 1/10 or two off resorts to this? What were you expecting, 12's?

I say your in the area. People with headers don't even run that time sometimes.

Re: very dissapointed

I would assume the DA was high, or you had some humidity.

What kinda 60's did you get both times? I see your sig has 2.12 as your best.

Re: very dissapointed

Your not getting much good out of the gears and Nittos if you are still in the 2's range on your 60 foot. I could pull 2.0x's with 2.73 gears and bfg Drag radials. Now I switch to 3.73's and M/T Drag Radials I am consistantly 1.8x range.

My suggestion would be to lower the tire pressure on the Nittos and do a longer burnout and work on your launch a little. If you still can't get a good 60 foot, then I would invest in some M/T Drag Radials, cause they are da bomb!

Re: very dissapointed

2.0? You're getting a 2.0 60' and expecting gears and a tire to bust you down big time? Ain't gonna happen till you hit 1.8 or better man.

I hit 2.0s with my 2.73s on street tires. Of course, this was before the stall, but regardless I hit them consistantly. I'll just melt the tires now.

Either find the sweet spot with the nittos and get them to hook good, or invest in some M/T DRs or E/T Streets. Then after you get that, drive it like you REALLY REALLY want to get to the end of the track.

Re: very dissapointed

I would say it had to do with the weather. I just raced my car and only got a 13.6@104mph with 2.2xx 60'. It was actually a dumb day to race with T-storms popping up because of 100% humidity.

There were several cars that I had seen race before that were all trapping about 3mph lower. I raced a 04 Mach 1 that was only trapping 98mph and a 01 Cobra that was trapping about the same.

Re: very dissapointed

The weather and 4.10's maybe hurting you. You should have went with 3.73's with the auto. Goodluck Later Clint

Re: very dissapointed

I have to agree. 4.10's with an auto and stock coverter/no cam is overkill on the gear end. Should have left the gears alone and put a converter in it. About the only way those 4.10's are going to do you any justice is with a cam but then you'll need a converter to match up the cam.

They key to quick times is to match up cam/coverter/gear rpm power range and pull decent 60' s.

I have an M6, SI and bolt ons. 4.11's raised my LS1 mph from 107 last year to 111 this year so far but they work better in a stick car with no cam.
