I have a 94 z28 6spd with the lt1 and i was wondering, what are some of the cheaper upgrades that help out the 1/4 mile time the most. Let me now what you guys think.

Tires are the first thing you need, especially with a stick car. Without any hook you will stay in the 14's. A cold air intake is supposed to make a nice gain, as well as the entire exhaust system.

It's all about power to weight. Cheap gimmicky add ons do little if anything to increase power. Don't believe advertising claims. Reducing weight however is very cheap. Take out everything you don't need for speed or safety.

As mentioned above, tires. Producing more power won't make you faster if you can't get the power to the ground. A good set of slicks mounted on a second set of rims will help out your track time.

Head. No matter what else you do to the engine, the biggest increase in power is from the heads. You can install headers or the intake system to gain a small amount but until the factory stock heads are replaced, you won't see a true performance gain.

There are no rear cheap upgrades that will help help performance. Putting on aftermarket suspension parts should only help in consistency and may help a little by allowing more power to get to the wheels instead of being lost in sloppy suspension.

About the cheapest add on that will improve you track time is NOS.

What kind of mods do you have right now and what do you consider cheap?
