re: UPDATE: LT1 / M6 goes 7.309 @ 196.10

Jonathan driving? If so, I can personally say that guy KNOWS how drive a stick shift car.

Shortly after my trans rebuild, I was having trouble getting locked out of either the 1-2 shift or 2-3 shift at around 6400 when trying to power shift it. I took it up there to them where he took me for a spin in my Z28 to shake it down. He didn't have any trouble shifting it at any RPM. The trouble with it was me. I've never heard it make the sounds it made when he was driving it. There is a very unique sound that a T56 will make when power shifting it properly. I've never been a passenger in my car with someone who could drive it so well. Felt like it had 2x the power with him driving it.

This was with the stock shifter too.....be interesting to see what he could do with it now that I've got the MGW in it. I didn't like the feeling of the MGW at first, but I moved the stick up around 1/4 from where I originally had it new(I had it fairly low) and it feels awesome to me now. Best shifter I've ever had in a car.......LoL, except for Jonathan. =)

Just ran 7.07 @ 201 MPH with a cracked cylinder head.

Not sure if this is the pass.... but he indicates it is turning 8,800 RPM.

I saw another pic from him where he showed one of his cylinder head cracked lengthwise near the lower studs. He said the 8th mile time on that pass would have been in the 6’s.
