Traction issues

I have chrome 17x11 ZR1's on my TA with nitto 555R Drag radials. I used these at the track and they worked perfectly. I will soon be pushing 400+ hp (and a lot more Tq with N20) to the rear wheels, and I would rather not use my Nitto's at the track because I want them to last. I don't want to go full slicks yet (I want to save my rear end). I have my old 16x8's (painted, lightweight salad shooters) with almost brand new rubber on the front tires. I was thinking about putting BFG's drag radial on there because I heard they get better traction than nittos, but don't last too long. Which will get better traction, my 17x11's with 555r's, or my 16x8's with BFG's (or other tire if you could suggest one)? I figured this fits more in the drag forum, but if the mods feel it should be in wheels and tires, feel free to move it.
